A Life of Purpose

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.- Jeremiah 29:11

What an amazing reality to behold, to meditate and ponder upon. Yes, before we were formed in our mother’s womb God knew us.  We are not here by chance; no we are not here by mistake. It was orchestrated that way from the beginning, our existence on earth is a divine plan, and we are here on purpose.

Too often when I look around I feel saddened by the number of people that are walking around aimlessly, living but not truly living, never coming into their true purpose.

What a waste it would be to have spent our entire life on earth, living life but never fulfilling our God given purpose.

As I sit here and ponder I have come to realize that many times our purpose is often wrapped up and packaged in the form of our passions, talents and giftings.

God often uses our God given passions to propel us into our God given purpose.

God is the author of it all. He knitted us together and placed it all inside of us. So who better to ask?  Yes, many times we look to the things of this world for answers when God is the one we should go to, after all he made us.

If you bought a new electronic gadget what is one of the first things you would do?  I can safely guess that you would read the manufacturer‘s handbook to understand how the gadget works, the built in features and its full capabilities. So in essence you go to the manufacturer or to the source to find out the inner workings of that thing.

In like manner, if we want to find out what we were created to do, what our purpose on earth is then we simply need to go to the source.

We need to ask the creator, the author, the one who knitted us, knew us and formed us in our mother’s womb.

We must go to God for He is the source and He has the blueprint to put things in motion for us to lead a purpose driven life.

Let us seek Him because it is in Him that we shall find our God given purpose. Remember He has a divine plan for your life and mine

Here are a few scripture verses to meditate on as you press forward in purpose.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21).

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out” (Proverbs 20:5).

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace” (2 Timothy 1:9)

  1. It sure well is a good one, straight on point as it beats me sometimes when I ponder on our purpose on earth as individuals.
